Samuel Hall is social enterprise dedicated to migration research. We work directly in countries affected by migration. Our mandate is to produce research that delivers a contribution to knowledge with an impact on policies, programmes and people. Samuel Hall has offices in Afghanistan and Kenya, and a presence in France, Germany, Tunisia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.

ELRHA is an initiative that aims to improve humanitarian outcomes through partnership, research and innovation. ELRHA’s ability to impact on humanitarian policy and practice is supported by the strength and expertise of its global stakeholder network. Key groups include the global humanitarian and research communities, private sector actors, national and regional governments, and funders of research and innovation.

About the humanitarian innovation fund (HIF)

The humanitarian innovation fund is one of elrha’s programmes. HIF supports organisations and individuals to identify, nurture and share innovative and scalable solutions to the challenges facing effective humanitarian assistance.

In order to achieve this, the Humanitarian Innovation Fund will work towards:

  • Enabling and supporting humanitarian innovators to move creative ideas through the innovation process
  • Supporting them in building new partnerships with key actors
  • Enabling the lessons from grant funded projects and from analysis of innovation processes in humanitarian contexts to be disseminated more widely
  • Strengthening existing relationships between humanitarian agencies, academics and those in the private sector engaged in innovation processes
